The application is registered with the Institute of Registration and Notary Affairs (IRN), which checks and validates the documents. You have been married to or living in a de facto union with a Portuguese national for more than 3 years;;\n. You have been legally resident in Portugal for at least 5 years;\n. You were adopted by a Portuguese citizen while still a minor;\n. You are the child or grandchild of a Portuguese citizen of origin;\n. You are a descendant of Portuguese Sephardic Jews;\n. You were born in Portuguese territory to foreign parents who, at the time of birth, were legally resident in Portuguese territory, or have been resident here, irrespective of their title, for at least one year;\n.
